The purpose of P3O is to provide universally applicable guidance that will enable individuals and organizations to establish, develop and maintain appropriate business support structures.

Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) was first published in 2008 and revised in 2013. Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) guidance is accompanied by a certification scheme.
This 2 (or 3) days Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) foundation certification will give delegates sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to interact effectively with, or act as an informed member of, an office within a P3O model.
The Foundation certification confirms that delegates have sufficient understanding of the P3O guidance to work effectively with, or act as a member of, an office within a P3O model.
A P3O model provides a decision-enabling/ delivery support structure for all change within an organization. This may be provided through a single permanent office which may exist under several different names, for example Portfolio Office, Centre of Excellence, Enterprise or Corporate Programme Office.

This training is suitable for members of offices within a P3O model or anyone who needs to understand the terminology and concepts underpinning P3O and those wishing to pursue higher level certifications.
There are no pre-requisites for attending foundation training, however, relevant practical experience will be very beneficial.
The Foundation certification is a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.
The decision-enabling and support business model for all business change within an organization. This will include single or multiple physical or virtual structures, i.e. offices (permanent and/or temporary), providing a mix of central and localized functions and services, and integration with governance arrangements and the wider business such as other corporate support functions.
Our P3O courses are fully accredited by PeopleCert on behalf of Axelos.
P3O foundation exam:
- Multiple choice examination questions
- 70 questions per paper
- 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 50%
- 60 minutes’ duration
- Closed book.
Virtual classroom delegates will be provided with exam vouchers to book online exams directly with PeopleCert. Paper-based exams are held on last day of the training for classroom trainings only.
Virtual classroom trainings are held using video conferencing software. A trainer leads the class for the duration of course. Delegates may attend the session using PC, laptop or tablets.

Such trainings are held like normal classrooms where delegates ask questions, take part in exercises, interact with trainer throughout the course.

Delegates may attend the session using PC, laptop or tablets. Device used by delegate MUST have (or be connected to external) webcam, microphone and speaker.
Minimum of 20Mbps is recommended internet speed.
We will provide the exam vouchers to all delegates, for online exam, before the training commences. Delegates can book the exam directly with PeopleCert on a preferred date/ time. The exam will not be part of the training schedule. PeopleCert and Axelos do not offer paper based exams anymore.
